Polaroids are Still a Thing, Somehow
Digital media has destroyed plenty of companies in past decade or so. If you were to pick one of the most prime candidates for extinction due to technology evolution it would definitely be the Polaroid camera.
For those of you under the age of 30, these were popular cameras in the 80s and 90s that would print out the picture immediately after took it. After that, all it took was a few minutes of Andre 3000 quality shaking and a grainy, poorly lit photo would emerge.
However, not unlike newspapers, Polaroid are refusing to die quietly into the night. They have some kind of new digital version of their once-upon-a-time revolutionary picture-taking device, and the Phoenix Suns go a hold of it for Media Day.
Players, who were clearly in shock such a device existed, spent a bunch of time taking Polaroid selfies, a term that should be an oxymoron.
Then (because what else are they supposed to do with them) the Suns gave these instant heirlooms out via Twitter. Here is a glimpse of how it all transpired and the results:
The Suns finally kick off training camp for a season that simultaneously seems like it will never get here and is coming way too soon.
Time to rise.
