Breaking down and Predicting the Phoenix Suns’ 2019-20 schedule: March
By Adam Maynes
Closing March out on the road
This is the point in the year that a road trip of this kind could be looked at in one of three ways:
If Phoenix is playing for a push at the playoffs, each game will have a playoff-type atmosphere and crucial to that cause.
If Phoenix is already out of the playoffs but still a decent-enough team, then they will be playing for the continued building of chemistry and further integrating themselves into new head coach Monty Williams‘ system.
If Phoenix’s season has taken a nose dive similar to that of 2018-19, then this road trip will only prove to be an extension of that absolute disaster.
Phoenix Suns
Regardless of what they will be playing for at that time, the game against the Pacers is going to be difficult presuming health, although the next matchup vs Washington should be far more winnable.
Always presuming health anything is possible, however the Pacers on paper should be a playoff team while the Wizards by this point may have totally imploded.
Next up are back-to-back games against the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat, two presumably playoff-bound teams, and while I would like to say that Phoenix could sneak out at least one of them, with the playoffs around the corner for both Eastern Conference franchises, it is unlikely that that is the case as both will be vying hard for post-season positioning.
The month, however, does wrap up with what should be a cakewalk of a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, a matchup that regardless of when it took place in the schedule, should be a blowout win for the Suns.
As noted, if the Phoenix Suns are making a push for the playoffs in 2019-20, then the month of March could be make it or break it for them.
However, according to our predictions thus far, they are likely playing for pride and the future, although with this roster, should still be a lot of fun to watch.
