Northwest Division

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves are another team that has had a ton of turnover this offseason, losing Taj Gibson, Tyus Jones, Derrick Rose, Dario Saric (thank you!), Anthony Tolliver, and Jerryd Bayless, while adding Treveon Graham, Jake Layman, Shabazz Napier, Noah Vonleh, Jordan Bell, and Jarrett Culver.

I believe that their losses outweigh their gains, so a tough and young Timberwolves squad will become slightly easier to defeat – which for the Phoenix Suns is a boon as the franchise has actually defeated them five times in their last four years (although Minnesota has won nine over that stretch).

Phoenix tied the ‘Wolves two years ago and arguably should have won three times taking the series, then nearly defeated Minnesota twice last year.

I think this season the Suns will win at least two again, and if the two teams play three times as they did in 2018-19, Phoenix will win the series, however, if they play four times, I’ll presume a tie (although if someone could tell with absolute certainty that the Suns would win three of four in 2019-20, I most certainly would not be shocked).

Prediction: Suns win 2-1.
