Southeast Division

Washington Wizards

Sans John Wall, the Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards had two epic  battles last season, including a 149-146 triple-OT slug fest right before Christmas.

Washington has since lost Dwight Howard (boo-hoo), Trevor Ariza (yawn), and Bobby Portis, while adding a number of players including C.J. Miles, Isaiah Thomas, and Rui Hachimura through the draft.

However, the Suns have added Ricky Rubio (who I would take over everyone Washington has added this offseason) which alone should make a huge difference in how Phoenix fares against the Wizards in 2018-19.

Some might laugh at this, but I am feeling a bit bullish: with all of the changes and upheaval that the Wizards are going through, I feel very confident that the Suns are a better team than Washington and will sweep the season series.

Sure, it is probably more likely to be a season series split, however, as a 19-63 team last season, Phoenix still drove Washington to the brink twice, and even though this Wizards re-loaded somewhat, I think their time has come for a huge slip and the Suns will sweep them for the first time in five years.

Prediction: Phoenix sweeps 2-0.
