Southeast Division

Charlotte Hornets

The Phoenix Suns have not defeated the Charlotte Hornets in over two seasons.

That streak will come to an end this season – in a big way (if only the Suns played in the Southeast Division. They’d be an absolute lock for the playoffs – but more on that in a bit).

Of course, all NBA fans know that Michael Jordan short-changed his offer of a full max contract to retain Kemba Walker which Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics took advantage of by signing-away the three-time All-Star.

Then in what basically became a one-for-one swap, the Hornets signed former Celtic point guard Terry Rozier.

Good for them. Jordan lost an All-NBA talent (who continuously killed the Suns in the past), and replaced him with a career backup point guard who had one solid playoffs run two years ago and has done absolutely nothing of note ever since.

(To add insult to injury, Jeremy Lamb also signed with the Indiana Pacers).

Malik Monk, Nicolas Batum, Miles Bridges, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist are nice, but they basically make for a team of role players, now without a star.

Once again, the Phoenix Suns should be able to steam-roll through Charlotte and sweep the Hornets for the first time in six years.

Prediction: Phoenix sweeps 2-0.
