Southeast Division

Orlando Magic

Someone has to win every Division in the league, right?

So while the Miami Heat are improved over last season’s third place finish in the Southeast, the Orlando Magic won out in the worst Division in the league in 2018-19 with a 42-40 record, needing a split with the lowly Phoenix Suns to even reach one-game above .500.

The Magic added Al-Farouq Aminu, but other than him have added no one of note to the roster that last year would have been a 20-game winner had they been in the Western Conference.

Suns fans have long had their eyes on Aaron Gordon, and while he is a nice piece, he is nowhere capable of carrying a team, plus beyond him, the Magic really does not have anyone in particular that the 2019-20 Phoenix Suns should not be able to counter.

I do not expect that the Magic will be better than they were last season, and since Phoenix is much improved, there will be a sweep this season, and it will be the Suns sweeping the Magic.

Unless Phoenix happens to be dealing with injuries to two of their top players when the two teams meet head-to-head, I really can’t imagine that the games will be anything close either.

Prediction: Phoenix sweeps 2-0.
