Predicting the Phoenix Suns’ record vs the Atlantic Division
By Adam Maynes
Atlantic Division
New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are bad.
Like, really bad.
And their additions of RJ Barrett, Bobby Portis, and Julius Randle are not enough to keep them out of the bottom of the league standings again this coming season.
I personally really like Dennis Smith Jr. and Kevin Knox, both players I wish James Jones had targeted this offseason (maybe he did and New York said no, but definitely players that I would have loved to see running in purple and orange next season and for years to come), but the Suns swept New York last season for the third time in five years, something that I expect is very likely to happen again this season.
To think too: they decided to trade Kristaps Porzingis thinking that they’d be a major free agent destination, but got nobody of note besides Randle.
Like my thoughts on Phoenix potentially splitting the series with Philadelphia based on whether or not there are unfortunate injuries or one of the matchups being an untimely back-to-back, the Knicks could steal one.
It just seems very unlikely and if a healthy Phoenix Suns meets the Knicks near the end of the season when New York is back in full-tank mode, Phoenix might even have a laugher in their favor, something they have not had much of in recent years.
