2. Kemba Walker (UFA)

Kemba Walker appears to be re-signing with the Charlotte Hornets and is potentially the least available option on this list, however, technically if the Suns can clear the cap space, they could make a max offer for him and at least force him to make a decision.

Placing Kemba next to Devin Booker would make the Phoenix Suns’ backcourt the second highest scoring guard tandem in the league short of only the backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Kemba too is high character veteran guy who would make the Phoenix Suns a much  more likable team right away.

The only drawback to potentially acquiring Kemba is his age.

While he does not have an extensive injury history, at 29-years-old, he has already peaked in his prime (last season probably will go down as his statistical greatest).

If Phoenix still takes 2-3 years to make their approach to the top of the Western Conference, will a then early-30’s point guard be able to hang with the younger roster to keep the run going for an extended period of time?

Obviously a team needs to place themselves in a position to win to win,  however, at 33, Booker will still be 26 and Ayton 24.

That said, Kemba could arguably make the Suns a 5-seed in the playoffs right away (if the team is healthy), and would have them on the rise.

Could he then stretch his career the way Steve Nash did and remain offensively productive until he’s 38?

Only time will tell, although we’ll probably be looking for that answer from afar.
