Three trades the Phoenix Suns could pursue with T.J. Warren and Josh Jackson

New York Knicks

I have personally long been an advocate of acquiring Dennis Smith Jr.

This trade would finally be one in which the Suns would arguably get their point guard of the future, while also adding a dispensable backup in Frank Ntilikina, plus cap space not only this offseason but next as well.

The New York Knicks, on the other hand, get a solid scorer (of which they have very few) in Warren, a project that they get a cheap year to see if they can develop in Jackson, both while maintaining a large portion of cap space to hang up on a flag pole and watch it flutter in the wind.

Maybe Kevin Durant signs with the Knicks, but the odds are he won’t and New York will end up over-paying a player or two just to say they accomplished something in free agency.

With this trade they literally can say that they did something  outside of finishing third in the lottery plus a still high second round pick (eh).

Obviously the New York Knicks believe they are and should be a free agent destination, but as they really aren’t, they’ll have to build by other means, and a trade like this would at least garner them a little attention.

I’ll tell you what: throw in Milwaukee’s 2020 first round pick as well.
