Chicago Bulls

One Chicago Bulls writer for FanSided said the Bulls should jump the Suns to take a point guard.

I’ll do them one better.

Swap picks, plus the Suns take Kris Dunn – who is better than any point guard they would take in the draft.

Now here is the ironic thing: when I originally conceived of this trade, I had the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2020 first round pick going Chicago’s way as well (that thing has so  little value, but it does serve as a nice trade piece).

However, in research for another part of this post, I stumbled on another Chicago Bulls FanSided author who proposed this exact trade, minus the Bucks pick.

So, with the intention of giving up as little as possible, deal!

I have been a fan of Dunn’s since he entered the league and I believe he would actually be the perfect point guard target in trade for the Phoenix Suns because of his age and distribution abilities.

The money saved on Dunn at PG (he is making approx. $5.3 million this coming season) will allow Phoenix to go after a little bit bigger fish at power forward (I am a huge fan of targeting Tobias Harris, for instance) while keeping the core still young.

Dunn has improved this 3-point shooting every year of his career and presuming there could be a continued upward trajectory, the backcourt of Book and Dunn would be offensively lights out.
