One trade the Phoenix Suns could complete on draft day with every team

Charlotte Hornets

Both Malik Monk and Josh Jackson have been supreme disappointments for their teams since their entrance into the league in the same 2017 NBA Draft, and while Jackson probably still has the higher ceiling, if Monk can find his 3-point stroke he would be the perfect compliment to Devin Booker.

For Phoenix, Monk would replace veteran unrestricted free agent Troy Daniels (who I still  want re-signed), and if his 3-point shooting does improve, could become a very valuable piece for the Phoenix Suns moving forward.

If Josh Jackson does have a little Clyde Drexler in him, than Charlotte would get a great pickup as well, although with his own arrest to deal with.

At worst, the Hornets would acquire a getting a solid and athletic small forward who is a nice piece, although with a ceiling about as high as Monk’s.

When I initially conceived of this trade I had the Suns trading back to 12 as well, but that actually does not make much sense from Phoenix’s perspective, so instead I will also have the Hornets throw in one of their two second round picks, at 36.

I want to see James Jones draft European prospects (and see how his European scouting is), and the 52 overall pick would be the perfect opportunity.
