Brooklyn Nets

If the Brooklyn Nets are indeed on their way to signing Kyrie Irving to a max contract, and the subsequent rumors of the team relinquishing their rights to D’Angelo Russell making him an unrestricted free agent is also true, then the Nets are going to want to save as much money as possible to sign those Kyrie and whomever else they target (plus, likely another mid-level veteran).

To save the Nets as much money as possible immediately, James Jones could offer the 32nd pick overall as well as Milwaukee’s 2020 first round pick for center Jarrett Allen.

The Phoenix Suns do not necessarily need Allen because of Deandre Ayton, however, fan-favorite Richaun Holmes was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession in Florida, and as an unrestricted free agent is by no means guaranteed a return spot on the roster.

If new Head Coach Monty Williams is going to stretch Ayton out at all, then he and Allen could play side-by-side for stretches where Allen’s defense can be utilized on the most athletic opponents while then playing in the post letting Ayton jack up some 3’s (hopefully at an efficient rate).
