Oklahoma City Thunder

Phoenix wouldn’t trade for Russell Westbrook if they offered him plus  the key to Oklahoma City.

But that doesn’t mean that the Thunder are entirely devoid of pieces that would help make the Suns better right away.

Phoenix needs power forwards, and Patrick Patterson for the 32nd overall pick would be an inexpensive backup that would pair well with a starter – should James Jones be able to acquire one.

Dennis Schroeder has been on many Suns fan’s radars for several years, and while he isn’t necessarily unneeded in Oklahoma City, he isn’t making them a championship team, so getting him off their books by next offseason would help the Thunder continue to build around the pair of Russ and Paul George.

To snag him, Phoenix could offer Tyler Johnson and 32 for Schroeder. From OKC’s perspective, this is easily for less than a trade of talent and more of the Thunder prepping for additional moves the following season.

That said, if they aren’t that worried about saving money, a swap of T.J. Warren for Schroeder one-for-one would be interesting (although OKC would have to send one of their 2020 second round picks in return as well).
