New Orleans Pelicans

Ugh seriously! How come James Jones could not have found a way to get the Phoenix Suns involved in the Anthony Davis trade and snag Lonzo Ball away?!?

First off, depending on if the Pelicans are able to trade the fourth overall pick, prior to the draft (as has been reported as their intention), the Suns should offer the sixth and 32nd overall picks for Lonzo Ball.

The Pelicans would be overwhelmed with draft picks, and while they wouldn’t have Ball, they would still have a very real shot at drafting one of potentially three available in Coby White, Darius Garland, and shooting guard Jarrett Culver.

That said, if that isn’t something that New Orleans has interest in, they really are  shopping the fourth overall pick, why not make a deal to guarantee arguably the best point guard in the draft, while also shedding some money both right now and in the future.

I wrote about how to do just that right here.
