Los Angeles Clippers

A lot of Phoenix Suns fans have wanted James Jones to target Patrick Beverley over the past year, however, at this point he can be had through free agency – although he is likely going to either stay with the Clippers or join another contender who needs veteran depth.

Coincidentally, the Suns’ best bet at making a deal with the Clippers right now is for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who Ryan McDonough apparently targeted in the draft last season, and who might have been available in a trade had ownership not nixed it.

However, to have any chance of this happening, the Suns would need to present a more major package.

Phoenix could offer a second round trade flip of the Clippers’ 48th overall pick for the Suns’ 32nd, while nabbing Shai and Danilo Gallinari for T.J. Warren

Danilo is closing in on the downside of his career while last season put up eerily similar stats to T.J. Warren.

And while Warren is under contract for another three additional years, Danilo is up after this season, and would provide over $10 million dollars in instant savings for Los Angeles.

Phoenix gets to kick the savings down the road until next season when both Danilo and Tyler Johnson’s contracts are up, while L.A. keeps a similarly productive player on the roster, while saving some serious cash to play with this summer as thy look to bolster their already playoff caliber team.
