One trade the Phoenix Suns could complete on draft day with every team

Golden State Warriors

Kevin Durant tearing his achilles changes everything, doesn’t it?

If only someone had warned them against playing Durant in Game 5 the day before.

Oh wait – Somebody did. (It was me, if that wasn’t obvious…)

Bragging aside, there is literally nobody available on the entire Golden State Warriors roster who the Suns could trade for.

Either those players are entirely untouchable or about to become free agents.

Phoenix can definitely pilfer the Warriors’ bench with free agent signings, which I wrote about potential options here and here, but nothing more.

The best I can think of is that the Warriors would find a way to re-sign Kevin Durant for one year because of his injury, basically pull a DeMarcus Cousins kind of one-year (although in his case two-years) “prove it” deal, and to save and pinch every penny, be willing to sell of their 28th overall pick.

In that case, Phoenix literally buys the 28th overall pick like Robert Sarver and Mike D’Antoni used to sell off their own in the mid-2000’s.

Although I would prefer that the Suns do not add another  first round pick, but if Golden State is willing to sell it to Phoenix for cash (which is sort of a trade), let’s do it – then I want James Jones to use the pick on a draft and stash.

Does Bogdon Bogdonovic have a younger, better snipe-shooting brother?
