Los Angeles Clippers

While the long-term presumption has been that Davis will go to the Lakers, there is always the outside chance that Los Angeles in general will do for him and the Clippers can move on in on a deal.

In this case, the Phoenix Suns would jump in on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a point guard that it was rumored Ryan McDonough had targeted during the draft last year but supposedly had the deal shot down internally.

The Pelicans do not necessarily need Shai with Holiday on the roster and would have the opportunity to still draft a point guard to develop with the sixth overall pick from Phoenix.

The Pelicans would have two short-term veterans to help both keep the team decent and playoff competitive this season but then open up cap space to acquire more long-term targets through free agency and trade over the next two seasons with Danilo Gallinari leaving the books after this upcoming season and Lou Williams the summer following.

New Orleans then can use two first round picks in 2020 to pair together with their own and either make the picks and move the rebuild through the draft then as they could this season with the Lakers’ trade, or package them up and attempt to acquire quality over quantity.
