#5 Danilo Gallinari (2008 NBA Draft)

Danilo Gallinari was drafted in 2008 and is still playing at a high level. He hasn’t been named to any All-NBA Teams or been an All-Star but he is a solid starter.

He’s a really good player and this year he was a major piece on a Los Angeles Clippers team that shocked it’s way into the playoffs, even though they were stuck playing the Golden State Warriors in the first round.

He had a sweet 46-43-90 shooting line (for a 6-foot-10 forward too) this season, making 2.4 treys and averaging 19.8 points per game. He also averaged a career high 6.1 rebounds and his 2.1 assists were just short of his career best (2.7).

This was his tenth season in the NBA and he has career averages of 15.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.9 triples per game on 37.6 percent accuracy from deep.

He’s played in 549 games and started 479. Those numbers would be even higher if it weren’t for him being injury prone, including missing the entire 2013-14 season.

This season he played in 68 games (only missing 14 games) and he had the best scoring streak of his career, scoring 20 or more points in nine straight games in March. This was a really good season for him, showing a note of good health and high play. He’s only 30 and has plenty left in the tank.

Though he has had injury issues and he hasn’t been given many awards or been an All-Star in the league, he’s definitely been a very good player and for the sixth pick in the draft, the Suns would be happy if they get someone of his caliber.
