Small Forward. 21. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Iowa State. Talen Horton-Tucker. player. 149

The Thunder are in salary cap hell.  They can’t afford to keep picking roll players.  They have to swing for the fences a little bit.  THT fits that need.  He is a little young and a lot of short, but he has a huge wingspan that allows him to play bigger players without flinching.  He’s built like a brick and is an elite defender.  Given that Andre Roberson is apparently in witness protection for the foreseeable future, Horton-Tucker could give the Thunder a much needed boost on defense with the potential to create his own offense.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Shooting Guard. Kentucky. Tyler Herro. 20. player. 18

Thanks to the Clippers Boston gets to keep adding to the war chest it’s about to ship to New Orleans.  If the Celtics keep this pick, they could do worse than Herro as a way to help fill the gap left behind by Kyrie’s UHaul being currently packed up by his team mates.  Herro has shooting guard size at 6’5″ but has point guard skills.  Combined with Marcus Smart and potentially Rozier, the Celtics should be well positioned to survive the departure of the flat earth philosophy.

Pick Analysis. 19. player. 29. Scouting Report. Center. Maryland. Bruno Fernando

The Spurs have a pretty good track record with drafting elite centers.  Take one who put up 16,13, 2, and 2 at Maryland and I have a lot of faith that Pop can get the best out of him.  Tyler Herro might make some sense off the bench for them, but picking Fernando gets them off depending on Jakob Poeltl to be the future of the center, which seems wise.
