The Nets were able to claim this pick from Denver and grabbing Williams with it would be a steal.  I suspect Williams will slide this low because he’s short and won’t measure well at the combine.  However, Williams can really play.  Against more elite talent like Gonzaga, Williams stood out.  Put him into the Net’s system and he should shine.

The Cavs can thank Houston for this bonus selection.  Most of the players who fit this spot are too old to make sense for Cleveland’s rebuild.  KZ is young enough and raw enough to make sense for a rebuilding team.  He is one of those players that didn’t start until late and so like Quese will be a long-term project.  However, all the physical tools are there and between that and the age this makes this logical.

The knock on Johnson is that he can’t create his own shot.  Portland is a great fit because they wouldn’t even ask him to dribble.  They’d just ask him to be the anti-Evan Turner.  They just need him to catch the ball and shoot it.  Unlike Turner or Rodney Hood, Johnson would just catch it and let it rip at a high rate.  It wouldn’t put Portland over the top, but it should be an upgrade on a team that doesn’t need any more projects.
