Bojan Bogdanovic

At 29-years-old, Bojan Bogdanovic is a large part of the Indiana Pacers’ success. His praises go relatively unsung for a team that sits third in the Eastern Conference, even with their best player going down with an injury. Now, Bogdanovic will enter into free agency at the age of 30, having never made over $11 million in his career.

Bogdanovic would fit in Phoenix well. He is a knockdown shooter who is riding a two year stretch of 40% from beyond the arc. Inserting Bogdanovic into the Suns’ lineup would stretch the defense out and allow Ayton to do what he does best and dominate inside.

Bogdanovic is a more consistent 3-point shooter than anyone Phoenix currently has. He has a better track record than T.J. Warren from deep and he’s also able to play with ball dominant players, a useful talent for someone possibly playing with Booker and Morant.

Aside from that, Bogdanovic isn’t too much of a downgrade defensively, either. He has experienced his two best years in defensive box plus/minuses the last two seasons. This season, he’d be right on par with Kelly Oubre Jr. and just a hair better than Warren. He’d still be worse than Mikal Bridges by a large margin (Bridges is going to be a two-way monster), but is a better offensive player at this moment.

Bogdanovic has veteran experience on a playoff team in Indiana too. Yes, the Suns have a lot of depth at the wing position, especially young depth. However, they’ve shown they aren’t afraid to add to the wing depth with their signing of Trevor Ariza last year.

Bogdanovic could give Phoenix much needed consistency and leadership at the three. Next up is one of Bogdanovic’s struggling teammates.
