Christmas Day features some of the most exciting games of the NBA regular season. Who should Phoenix Suns fans be rooting for in each game?

The Phoenix Suns don’t play on Christmas, but there’s still basketball to watch. In fact, it’s the best day of professional, regular season basketball all year, with exciting games televised nationally for over 12 straight hours.

The day starts out with the Milwaukee Bucks taking on the New York Knicks in a game that could impact lottery standing. Then the Oklahoma City Thunder play the Houston Rockets in a battle of MVPs and playoff teams. Next, the Philadelphia 76ers play the Boston Celtics in a matchup featuring two of the league’s most exciting young teams.

Around dinner time, the Los Angeles Lakers play the Golden State Warriors in a matchup of Pacific Division rivals and the Lebron James vs. Golden State rivalry. That game is definitely closest to home for Suns fans. And the final game is the Portland Trail Blazers against the Utah Jazz.

So who should Phoenix Suns be rooting for in each of these games? Let’s take a look at draft position, playoff position, individual players, rivalries, and historical significance to decide who the Suns should want to win and, in most cases, who the Suns should want to lose.

While a lot comes down to personal preference, there are some Suns specific scenarios in these games, as well as a couple Lakers specific scenarios and a some grudges against teams and players we won’t forget this holiday season.
