The Phoenix Suns are on their first three game win streak in a long time, and they’re finally playing an exciting brand of basketball again.

After a wild few days of transactions that both did and did not happen, the Phoenix Suns ended up simply swapping a 33 year old small forward for a 23 year old small forward. The only difference is that now the Phoenix Suns are exciting again!

Look, as much as everyone, including myself, would like to believe it, the Phoenix Suns are probably not going to light up the world with a second half of the season comeback, but that doesn’t mean that they will start to roll over and give up in games like they did at the beginning of the season. Those days are over because the Phoenix Suns are young, hungry, and exciting again.

Part of the reason is simply the fact that everyone is healthy again, especially leading scorers Devin Booker and T.J. Warren. With everyone back, the Suns seem to have found a nine man rotation that works. The great part about this rotation is that it features only one player who is above 25 years old in Jamal Crawford, whose veteran leadership can actually be seen on this team.

In years past, the Suns have gone with rotations for weeks at a time that were just as young if not younger than this one, that has not changed. What is different is that this group features all legitimate NBA players and not multiple G-League call-ups, which is what makes them exciting, not just young.

It is also the type of players that the Suns play now that make them more exciting. Some could argue that the number one pick in the draft is in the lower half of exciting players to watch on the team. That is not a slight to Deandre Ayton because exciting does not necessarily equal wins, but it is better than being boring and bad.

Next. Phoenix Suns dispel notion that young teams need veterans. dark

It is exciting to watch Richaun Holmes, Josh Jackson, and Kelly Oubre Jr. run, jump, and dive everywhere for balls and complete alley oops. While Booker will pull up from 30 feet and Crawford is good for a signature pass or dribble drive every night, there is a little bit of everything. Although the winning may not continue, it looks like the hustle, edge, and excitement this new look Phoenix Suns team brings is here to stay.
