Con: Unpredictability

As talented as Markelle Fultz is, it seems nearly impossible for a point guard to succeed without the ability to shoot. It’s anyone’s guess what his shooting will be like a few years from now, and the Phoenix Suns have missed on enough top prospects that they may be hesitant to take a chance on the young guard.

Whether the problem lays mentally or due to injury, it is unlikely to be fixed within a year. Phoenix has enough young talented players on the roster that they should be focusing on rounding out the team and determining future pieces. Waiting two years to decide if they want a player to be their point guard of the future is risky and may result in roster moves that don’t maximize the team’s potential. Booker and Robert Sarver don’t want to play the waiting game, and with Fultz, you must be patient and even then may end up disappointed.
