Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers are the easiest team to discuss in the entire NBA because the Suns have been connected to them and their two veteran guards for several months now.

In fact, the rumors have been so prevent that it is actually a little surprising that nothing has happened yet. Maybe that means the Suns don’t have interest in either Patrick Beverly or Milos Teodosic? Or do the Clippers just want way  too much for them (potentially believing that they could be far more competitive than they are destined to be?)

For Beverly the Suns should offer a protected first round pick, but because of his veteran status it needs to be highly protected with the likelihood that it eventually becomes two second round picks instead.

For Teodosic I would offer those two second round picks right away.

Milos is a very good passer and would fit well in the Suns’ system, but with his age too and inexperience, plus the fact that he is an unrestricted free agent after this season, I wouldn’t want Phoenix to offer anything that could potentially hurt them in the future because they probably would have no interest in keeping him beyond 2018-19.

I’ll add this briefly though: I really  wish that they Suns could have drafted Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. If there had been any way for Phoenix to trade up to select Shai at 11 instead of the Clippers, that would have helped the Suns out a lot this season. He looks like he is going to be a very good point guard in the future, making acquiring him near impossible now.
