The Phoenix Suns’ Media Day will be on Monday the 24th of September from 9:30am to 11:30am. As always, every year fans want to hear a few things specifically that leads into the season. These are the top-five questions we need answered.
The Phoenix Suns’ 50th Anniversary season was last year, the anniversary of their birth in the NBA, and the 25-year Anniversary of their 1993 NBA Finals trip with Charles Barkley.
In what should have been an exciting season full of celebration, it ended up a total disaster as they finished with the second worst record in franchise history, the second time they have ever lost at least 60 games in a year (the first since the 66-loss inaugural year).
Then the 2018 offseason commenced, one that was expected to have some amount of change and movement, but ended up chalk full of it.
Not only did Phoenix win the first overall pick and take Deandre Ayton, but made a blockbuster draft day trade to acquire Mikal Bridges.
Then they made an unexpected splash in free agency with a $15 million signing of stretch-four Trevor Ariza, traded the team’s presumed starting point guard as well as a former top-ten pick in Brandon Knight and Marquese Chriss for an aging and fading Ryan Anderson and second round pick De’Anthony Melton.
Jared Dudley was then traded, and Phoenix also acquired Richaun Holmes to replace fan-favorite big man Alan Williams.
Oh, and Phoenix hired a new head coach, Igor Kokoskov, a leader touted as an offensive genius, but also one with a defensive pedigree.
It looks like the team’s 51st regular season in the NBA will be more exciting than the their 50th, and with so much change means that there are a lot of questions needed to be asked during the team’s 2018 Media Day.
These are the top-five things we need to hear, along with plenty of follow-up questions depending on the initial answers.
