So, what happens next?

That said, since the acquisition of Redick would have more firmly placed the Suns in the system-style of the Rockets and Warriors, then I do wonder if the clock isn’t ticking on either Josh Jackson and/or T.J. Warren more so than we have ever thought and speculated:

The Rockets and Warriors place as many capable 3-point shooters on the floor at all times. The Rockets jack their shots up at an insane rate, while the Warriors make theirs at an insanely efficient rate.

Neither Josh Jackson nor T.J. Warren are good outside shooters at all,  (Jackson made just 26.3% of attempts last season while Warren made 22.2% and has only drained 28.3% from beyond the arc in his career.

While Suns fans love both players and have very high hopes for Jackson in particular, it seems obvious the kind of team that General Manager Ryan McDonough is attempting to build, and above average 3-point shooters are at the heart of that plan.

Who knows how quickly he would pull the trigger on a trade of either one of them (if either of them, admittedly).

However, if this theory of the team’s apparent direction is correct, and either one of them fails to significantly  improve their 3-point shooting by this season, then I find it hard to believe that either Jackson or Warren will be on the roster for much longer, and the player’s acquired in their stead will be prolific in their ability to shoot from the outside.
