Sacramento Kings
De’Aaron Fox: 78
Buddy Hield: 79
Marvin Bagley III: 78
Willie Cauley-Stein: 79 (First off, are Stein and Ayton REALLY at the same level? I mean, c’mon. *thinking emoji*)
Wow, do the Sacramento Kings have a consistently average starting lineup.
That said, while I think that Deandre Ayton’s rating is a little low, I think that Bagley’s is particularly low, and is my dark horse to not only be Rookie of the Year this season, but become his draft classes best player.
From top to bottom the Kings are a poor team and like Phoenix are only now beginning to pull themselves out of the doldrums of the Division basement that they have been stuck in for so long.
The great difference between the two is that I humbly do not think that Sacramento has anywhere near as solid a core nor as bright a future as Phoenix.
As mentioned, the player ratings are consistently average and are nothing to be excited about. I would never play with them on 2K and wouldn’t count on them in real life either.
The Suns and Kings were competitive last year in both reality and the digital world, but I think in both cases this is the year that a gap begins to develop between the two, with Phoenix being the team that pulls away.
