Minnesota Timberwolves

PG – Jeff Teague – 79

SG – Andrew Wiggins – 81

SF – Jimmy Butler – 89 (BOY do I hope he blows this team up and give the Suns a chance – albeit a slight one – to pass them.)

PF – Taj Gibson – 76

C – Karl-Anthony Towns – 91

The Minnesota Timberwolves are who the Phoenix Suns hope to be: have a young star wing and center (Wiggins and Towns), then have the assets to acquire a veteran star that hopefully puts them over the top.

There are two big differences though between what the ‘Wolves are and who the Suns want to be: Wiggins is no Booker, and Jimmy Butler has not only not  put Minnesota over the top, but it seems like he is on the verge of blowing that team up, so the Suns will hopefully be a little bit luckier in who they select to help take on the Western powers.

If Butler doesn’t blow the ‘Wolves up, then their starting lineup is truly scary – especially on 2K where poor team chemistry really doesn’t mess with a team’s play on the court all that much.

Three players in the 80s (even if Wiggins is only “meh,” and a 91 center and 89 small forward, the ‘Wolves should be difficult to beat.

That said, the Suns overcame that talent twice  last season and have a great chance of at least splitting the series against them again this season.

I personally love playing the Suns against the Timberwolves on 2K, and my passion for that synthetic matchup is equally as strong for the real-life one as well.
