The NBA2K starter’s ratings were released recently, and as we lead up to the game’s release on September 11, let us compare the Phoenix Suns’ starting rosters to the rest of the Pacific Division and make some 2K-related real-life predictions.
While video games are nowhere near real life, NBA simulation game NBA2K is a fun way to manipulate an alternate reality in an attempt to predict what can actually happen on the authentic hardwood.
(It’s also a great way to finally help Phoenix win an NBA championship which will definitely happen in out lifetimes. For sure… I hope…)
While the game isn’t to be released until September 11, and we do not have the ratings of reserves yet, we do have the player ratings for every starter in the NBA, including the Phoenix Suns.
So I thought it would be interesting to compare the 2K ratings of players and see if we can infer anything and use it in reality.
For this brief series of posts, I will compare the Phoenix Suns’ starting five against the starting five of every other Division in the league, beginning with the Pacific Division. I will make comparisons of the players position-by-position and use the individual ratings to see who is better, then also average up the ratings of each team’s starting-five and compare them that way as well.
I will also use these to make a few simple predictions about the head-to-head matchups between Phoenix and their opponents, hopefully finding a way to get Phoenix at least a near-winning record.
Therefore without further ado, here we go:
