Valley of the Suns Live! is the weekly live episode centered around you, the fans, the only  show in the world that brings fans together to talk about the Phoenix Suns live with the fans!

This week the main topic was centered around the optimal starting lineups for the Phoenix Suns.

A few days ago I wrote that about that optimal lineup, knowing specifically that the only position that causes really any debate is who should start at the small forward position.

Of course, Josh Jackson is the hopeful up-and-coming small forward, drafted fourth overall only a year ago, and seemingly with the ability to be an elite player on both ends of the floor. Yet at the same time, T.J. Warren is an established scorer, the veteran of the young Suns, and a player capable of averaging at least 20 points a game, regardless of whether or not he starts or comes off the bench.

Fans also wanted to discuss Zion WIlliamson, the Duke mega-star, who seems to have been hyped up since before he could even lace up a pair of infant sneakers.

Zion is already the presumed first overall pick in the 2019 draft, the kind of player (based on size and athleticism) that general managers the league ’round drool over. At 6’7″ and 270lbs, Zion looks to potentially be the next LeBron James in size, and potentially in play if his skill-set comes anywhere near LeBron’s.

Of course Phoenix Suns fans are interested in the possibility of drafting him if they remain in the lottery – which many of us believe they will be again.

As I discussed in the show, my hope is that the Phoenix Suns of 2018-19 pull an Orlando Magic of 1992-93 and have a good season (Orlando finished 41-41 in Shaquille O’Neal‘s first season after finishing 21-61 the season prior), but because they missed the playoffs – they were the last team to not make it in – they were placed back into the lottery. As luck (or Magic) would have it, Orlando won the lottery again, this time with the worst odds.

Maybe the Suns can have similar luck and find a way to have an improved season, barely miss the playoffs but show the fanbase they they truly are on the rise, then win the lottery, add Zion, and…well, the rest, at that point, would be history.
