#1 Lucas Nogueira (7-0 220, 26-years-old)

DeAndre Ayton is the Suns’ starting center. There is no denying that. With how he stands on the defensive end being his projected shortcoming, that makes a legit rim protector that much more coveted by Suns fans.

What if I told you there was a serious candidate for that job that is athletic, can fit into the team’s desired style of play and is on the younger side with a 7-6 wingspan?

Yeah, sign me up too.

Especially since it would probably be on the cheaper side and we wouldn’t have to throw a Timofey Mozgov or Bismack Biyombo sized deal at the chance of having a true shot blocker in the front court.

Through four seasons on the Toronto Raptors, Nogueira has averaged just 3.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1 block in 12.4 minutes with 63% field goal accuracy. Although those numbers don’t stand out at all, when he got an actual chance at good playing time (19.1 minutes) in 2016-17 he posted 4.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks with a 66% field goal accuracy

In fact, in his last 10 games with 20 to 25 minutes of floor time he made 63% of his shots and averaged 5.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.

He ranked 3rd in blocks per 48 minutes this season and 54th in blocks per game despite only playing 8.5 minutes per game. He’s a legit fly swatter, a good rebounder, sets good picks which would be helpful for the slashing the team wants to do and he will dunk on any one. He’d be a good fit.

Next. The Phoenix Suns might now be one player away. dark

Those are five remaining free agents that I really feel the Suns should take a look at if an opening presents itself. What do you think? Any one you would like to add?
