#5 Alan Williams (6-8 265, 25-years-old)
Let’s start with a familiar face in “Big Sauce”.
Although recently waived by the team, that very well may have been simply to clear cap. If he can be brought back for cheap, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be.
He’s the police chief’s son, a hometown kid, has a good head on his shoulders, and is exactly the type of teammate any player in the league would love to have on their side. Watch his demeanor, how he cheers his guys and that infectious smile on the sideline.
Other than that, he has game too.
He only played 5 games last season due to a partially torn meniscus but still averaged 4 points and 4.4 rebounds in only 14 minutes.
In the 3 seasons he played here, he saw time in 62 games and averaged 6.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 0.6 blocks in 13.6 minutes per game.
He can come in for a few minutes to give guys a breather while providing solid play while they rest. If he’s asked to play big minutes like was sometimes the case in the past he would not disappoint either.
In the last 10 games he played where he saw 20 to 25 minutes of action, he made 55% of his shots and posted 13.5 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. He’s a fan favorite and would be happily welcomed back.
