The free agent market is all but dried up and the roster is full in Phoenix. However, if a move was to be made there are still a few unsigned guys worth taking a look at.

July 1st, the doors opened up and swallowed free agents like a plane going through the Bermuda Triangle. Looking at those still available, it’s safe to say the market is drier than the Sahara desert. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few names that provide the illusion of an oasis.

On a young team, you can always take chances on younger players. Guys that are unproven, went through a tough stretch or just haven’t panned out but may just need a fresh start in a new environment. And at this point at least financially the risk would be near non-existent.

The Suns roster is but another 2-way contract short of a “no vacancies” sign.

However, there may be trades coming given the right situation and that could open up a spot. In case an opening is made, there are a few guys the front office in Phoenix should take a long, hard look at.

Even if Phoenix doesn’t sign any of these players prior to the season, odds are that at least one of them will remain available during the year, so should the injury bug strike or McDonough pulls off a trade that opens up a roster spot, any one of these five players could end up being the perfect guy to sign.
