#3 Matt Costello (6-10 240, 24-years-old)

Speaking of rim protectors, if Phoenix is going to consider giving a player with that skill a 2-way contract they need to take a good look at this guy.

Matt has showed since he started playing ball that he can offer that to any team he suits up for. In high school, he was Western’s all time leader in blocks. He became Michigan State’s all-time leading shot blocker.

He only played a total of 32 minutes through 4 games with the San Antonio Spurs last season, but he pulled down 9 rebounds and swatted 2 shots in that playing time.

In 30 G-League games last season, he averaged 2.2 blocks in just 22 minutes per game. He also shot 51% from the field and 36% from downtown (0.5 made triples per match) putting up 8.1 points and 7 rebounds.

In 4 G-League playoff games he averaged 9 points, 6 rebounds and a jaw dropping 5.3 blocks in 27.4 minutes per game.

Costello tied a postseason record with 11 blocks in the finals helping the Austin Spurs capture the G-League title.

The fella is willing to do the dirty work, is a team player and has a knack for rebounding as well. In a 2016-17 G League game he set an Iowa Energy record pulling down 25 caroms.

Costello is definitely worth a chance.
