#5 Tyler Davis (6-10 265, 21-years-old)

I told you I’d have other positions for you. Here’s one for the front court.

He already has legit size for a big man in this league. He’s a tough, physical bruiser that can score efficiently in the paint as well as rebound.

Tyler needs to improve his conditioning but he won’t be playing big minutes right away so that’s OK. His incredible work ethic shows me that he can improve there as well as anywhere else.

Last season with Texas A&M he formed a solid front line with Robert Williams (who because of his off court antics fell to #27 in the draft). Davis made 58.5% of his field goal attempts and averaged 14.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 29.1 minutes.

Those numbers could have been even higher if it weren’t done next to Williams who clogged the paint and had easier access to rebounds and took on more of the defensive swatting between the two. In the summer league with the Brooklyn Nets TD made 56% of his shots, 2 of 3 from long distance showing stretch potential and put up 11 point, 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in only 17.8 minutes each night including a 19 point, 7 rebound and 2 block effort.

Arguably one of the best centers in college and at only 21 years of age, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to give him a chance to become the backup for DeAndre Ayton.
