Overall analysis

Overall, Ryan McDonough has followed through on his promise to reshape the roster over last season, even if there has yet to be a splashy move that might in-and-of-itself move Phoenix up the Western Conference standings.

At the moment though, with four rookies, one free agency signing, the new acquisition of Holmes, plus the loss of Payton, Tyler Ulis, Josh Gray, House, Williams, Alec Peters, Dudley, and Len, there are 14 players that have interchanged from the roster at the end of last season, a tremendously large flip, all things considered.

Of course, Suns fans are still generally hoping for at least one more trade, a move that not only brings in a talented star player but also does not beak up the core, and if that happens, the roster will potentially continue to see even more of a dramatic change.

There is always the possibility that at least one of Tyson Chandler, Josh Jackson, T.J. Warren, and Troy Daniels could be moved in a deal, not to mention potentially any other other player as only Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton would seem to be at the moment the only untouchables.

Next: The Phoenix Suns should trade T.J. Warren this summer

That said, the roster has had an overhaul thus far and the summer isn’t even over. Could there be more moves on the horizon? Odds are yes, and the shape of both the starting lineup and bench might still each look dramatically different at the start of training camp, from now.
