Thaddeus Young

Another veteran, Thaddeus Young may end up being the cheapest option on the list. The 1- year pro would be a solid veteran contributor to the young Suns. A career 32% 3-point shooter, Thad Young does a little bit of everything on the court. He is not great at anything but helps out with everything, especially on the boards and is a solid defender.

Thad is a very good mid-range player and is able to be either a roll man or pop man after setting a pick.

Defensively, Young is not much of a rim protector but is very apt in creating turnovers which he averages 1.5 steals a game for his career. Young is a very durable player, having only missed a combined 18 games over the last three seasons, and has not missed much action throughout his entire career.

He does not need the ball to be effective but can do a little play-making when he gets the rock in his hands. The lefty just turned 30-years-old and projects to be a good contributor for at least a few more years so the length of a potential contract should not be too risky.

After making almost $13 million this past season, it would seem like a slight over pay if Phoenix gave him this same amount of money. If McDonough could get that price down to around $8 or $9 million a year then I think Thad Young would be a good veteran value pick up.
