4th Pick

This is probably the pick that everyone wants. It might actually also be the pick most likely to be available to the Phoenix Suns, at the right price.

Chandler Parson is the most overpaid player in the league, and that’s saying something as Bismack Biyombo doesn’t even average either 6 points or 6 rebounds a game. As such, the Grizzlies are desperate to rid themselves of it, while also adding young talent, something they can’t do while giving up the 4th overall pick.

By all accounts, Luka Doncic will now be available at 4th overall to Memphis, so if the Suns want to pair him up with Devin Booker in the backcourt, while letting him play his first few seasons under new Suns Head Coach Igor Kokoskov, then taking on Parsons while still giving Memphis a reason to play game one of the season, is what they’re going to have to do.

Parsons’ contract is so big, Memphis will have to take on an albatross contract themselves. That being said, while they’ll have to take Jared Dudley’s contract for this season, Parsons’ lasts for an additional two years. T.J. Warren steps in immediately as a better player than Parsons, and Chriss too becomes their best power forward.

Phoenix is stuck with Parson’s contract, but they get the flashy non-traditional point guard that so much of the league is gaga over. For what it’s worth, Parsons would back up Josh Jackson and Dragan Bender immediately steps into the starting power forward spot.
