8th Pick

The Cleveland Cavaliers are a team stuck in no-man’s land. Until LeBron James publicly announces where he will next take his talents, they have no idea if they still need to build for next season, or if it is time to hit the reset nuke and start over.

The Phoenix Suns can take advantage of that notion and offer them a trade that make a slot of sense for both teams.

It seems like Kevin Love’s time in Cleveland is done, whether or not LeBron James even returns. However, with his contract, they will not have very many suiters who will either be willing to take Love on, but also offer youth in return. The Suns can, at a price.

By acquiring Love, the Suns upgrade the power forward spot in a big way. While he has a large contract now, it is over in two seasons, right after Booker’s max kick’s in, and Dragan Bender’s next contract needs to be signed (presuming he’s still around). Cleveland gets both veteran and youthful help, and the Suns get a starting power forward and the 8th overall pick, which will either land them Collin Sexton or Michael Porter. Take your pick.
