12th Pick

In this scenario, the Clippers look to dump major salary this year and the years moving forward. In doing so, they give up both of their lottery picks to dump Danilo Gallinari. However, they get back T.J. Warren, a young scoring forward on a steal of a contract. Warren gives them a young piece to be part of their core as they start to rebuild in the loaded West. They get a few second round picks and Troy Daniels as well, who can help the team offensively and is practically on a minimum deal.

For the Suns, the benefit of this trade is picking up not one, but two late lottery picks. To a team in the middle of the lottery that’s just bereft of talent and just needs prospects, three picks and a young piece or two could be tempting enough to pry their pick from them. A team like Cleveland could be swayed in such a deal, especially if they don’t think LeBron is coming back.
