14th Pick
The Denver Nuggets have reportedly been looking to shed some cap, and Kenneth Faried appears to be the number one player that fits the bill. The same reports have said that Denver is willing to include 14 in the deal if necessary. For Phoenix, the deal presents a great opportunity to pick up an extra trade asset, and grab a good rotation player as well.
Faried is the epitome of a hustle guy, and his rebounding and athleticism would work well for the Suns either as a starter or off the bench. With both 14 and 16, the Suns have two solid assets to move up into the top 10 again with.
Denver sheds almost $12 million a year in the deal, and they pick up a good young PG in Ulis. After trading away Emanuel Mudiay, the Nuggets had a bit of a hole at the PG position the rest of the year. Ulis fills that hole for cheap. Plus, the team gets the first pick in the second round, a spot that still offers some value as far as filling out the bench and perhaps finding a diamond in the rough.
