Now that the basketball gods have bestowed the 1st overall pick on the Suns, it’s time for the FINAL Official 2018 Valley of the Suns Final Mock Draft!

The Hawks have a need everywhere.  I think they’ll try to fix their backcourt i this draft because they’ve got a promising set of young forwards.  If they can find a way to get Bagley of Ayton they might take a center, but otherwise I’m guessing this will be an all-guard adventure in the first round.  I love Thomas for his defensive tenacity.  He’s just different than any other point guard available in this round.  I don’t think he’s a starter, but I don’t think the Hawks will want or need him to be.  Just a nice change of pace guard who can lock people down a-la Marcus Smart.

A more versatile option like Landry Shamet or De’Anthony Melton might make even more sense for them.

Oh Jared Dudley should be proud!  Robinson might go much higher in this draft, but I like his fit alongside Russell.  Where D’Angelo can struggle to distribute the ball, Robinson can facilitate and create shots for others.  In the new position-ambivalent world that is the NBA it almost makes sense.

Khyri Thomas makes sense here for much the same reasons.

With all due respect to Swaggy P, it’s time for an upgrade off the bench.  I love the idea of Trent on this team.  It’s a perfect no-pressure situation for him to develop in.  I think he gives you the same flame thrower benefits of Young without the rest of the side show.  The Warriors bench could suddenly be looking young and deadly.

Jerome Robinson could be another ideal fit here.
