4. Bonzie Colson (6-5 225) from Notre Dame

Season Stats : 50-29-76 shooting line (0.8 treys) for 19.7 pts, 10.1 rebs, 1.7 stls and 2.2 blks

A 6’5″ power forward in the NBA isn’t something you see everyday, but Bonzie Colson could do it.

In college he not only found a way to produce but stand out.

He plays much bigger than his size. He’s very physical, a tough guy, a bruiser. The man is gritty and hard-nosed. He attacks the basket relentlessly and is an excellent rebounder and defender.

Bonzie impacts all aspects of the game too as he can initiate the offense being a good decision maker, shoot the 3 (48 made on 35% accuracy through his four-year college career), and load up on steals and blocks.

Though his size makes people think he’s too small, even for a tweener, he has a 7’2″ wingspan according to The Stepien. His heart, hustle, and leadership are a coach’s dream and he rarely makes mistakes.

Yeah, he’s had injuries (two foot surgeries). But he has come back even stronger after each one.

After missing two months due to his second procedure this season, in his second game back he put up 24 points, 15 rebounds and 1 block while making 3 treys against #1 ranked Virginia. He outplayed Jaren Jackson Jr. in their match up, putting up 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 blocks compared to Jaren’s 5 points, 3 rebounds and 3 blocks in only 14 minutes because he couldn’t stay out of foul trouble.

He reminds me so much of P.J. Tucker and the Suns need a guy like that again.
