The First Pick

It’s generally assumed that the Suns will draft DeAndre Ayton first overall, so for the purposes of this trade, let us assume that McDonough and Sarver draft Ayton (even though he probably isn’t the best pick, in my opinion).

Since Doncic, Bagley, Jackson, Porter, and Bamba could seemingly all be available with the fourth pick I will cover them. However, most of you know about the prospects so I will go into basic fit more than anything else.

Jaren Jackson Jr.

The Suns could draft an athletic guy named Jackson with the fourth pick two years in a row.

Jaren Jackson is probably the most likely guy to fall here be drafted by the Suns. Funny thing is that if that happens, there would be a J.J. and a J.J.J. on the same team.

Jackson would be the best fit with Ayton because he can play power forward, is a monster defender, and hopefully can stretch the floor for Ayton with his jump shot. Jackson might also be available here because NBA scouts view him as a player without a lot of potential as a shot creator.

J.J.J. looks a lot like Al Horford, potentially an elite defender and floors pacer with some ball handling ability. Jackson probably will never be a good enough shot creator to win a championship as the best player on his team although neither could Kevin Love though.
