A player the Suns like falls to 31

It seems like every year a consensus first rounder somehow slips to the second round. And if that happens this year, the Suns will be the first team with a chance to capitalize.

There are two ways they can cash in on such a fortunate turn of events.

The first would be to simply take the player they like best, getting a good prospect with a pick usually reserved for lower tier options. Another quality piece, even as a top bench option, would go a long way toward further solidifying the Suns’ young core.

The second is to use the pick as bait for another team to trade up. As was noted with Michael Porter Jr., when a player falls, teams who are interested will sometimes pay a premium to move back up and take him.

Either way, turning a second rounder into a higher quality asset would be a big win for the Suns.
