Michael Porter Jr. drops out of the top ten

Reports have been all over the place when it comes to MPJ. Some have linked him to the Kings with the second pick. Others have him falling past ten. His workout is cancelled. But now it’s back on. Heading into draft night, Porter Jr. seems to be the biggest X factor.

But if the unexpected happens and injury concerns causes ten teams to pass on him, the Suns should look to capitalize. With the team holding the 16th pick, they would only have to move up a few spots to nab Porter Jr. if he does indeed drop that far.

The Suns have the assets at their disposal to make a serious play at moving up a few spots, even if the pick’s value is higher because of MPJ’s availability. With two second round picks, some good young players, and a protected future first from Milwaukee, they can put together a package to compete with any other team and hopefully allow them to move up from 16.
