Concerns

Bagley has defensive issues just like Ayton and Doncic.

Like the former he got lost and confused in a man defense and doesn’t possess many basic defensive habits.

However, Bagley reclassified to play college basketball last year and is coming from AAU basketball so it should be no surprise he struggled defensively. He hasn’t had the time or the coaching to be a good college defender as he was likely working hard to develop his offensive game so he could play early.

That being said, he has the speed to be a great defender and should develop those habits with better coaching and more time.

Bagley is also very raw as a shooter and still needs to find consistent shooting mechanics. He is a question mark as a passer as he normally dunked every time he got the ball.

As previously mentioned Bagley came to college a year early and has a great work ethic, which makes his concerns seem a little less of a big deal. For Bagley to be this raw was expected, but with his work ethic and more time, he should be able to become at least a good NBA defender.
