5. Terry Teagle

Terry Teagle was the 16th pick by the Houston Rockets out of Baylor in 1982. Teagle spent his career as a solid role player, averaging 21.1 minutes per game across eleven seasons.

Over that period he played for the Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and finally again for the Rockets.

In Houston, Teagle started off well in his rookie season averaging 10.4 points along with 2.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 73 games played and 44 games started. However, he fell off his sophomore year, starting zero games and only averaging five points per game.

After the season Teagle moved to Detroit before being traded to the Golden State Warriors after two games. This is where he had his best years.

Across six seasons with the Warriors, Teagle averaged 13.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists, starting the most games of his career with any one franchise, 149.

After Golden State, Terry moved to the Los Angeles Lakers for two seasons before finishing his career with two games in Houston. Across his career, he averaged 11.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists.

Terry Teagle was more of a role player and sometimes the sixth man. He would consistently give his team 10 points off the bench. While he never became a consistent starter, he was still a value for his team. If you look at the playoffs now you can see the value a player like Teagle brought to his teams, making him the fifth best player drafted 16th overall.
