T.J. McConnell

Here is another familiar face due to his days playing for the University of Arizona.

T.J. McConnell of the Philadelphia 76ers could be exactly what the Suns need. The only reason he isn’t higher on this list is Philly may not be willing to give him up, although Phoenix should absolutely ask.

Regardless of hearing he’s not athletic and too small in this league, he goes out there and fights hard and gets the job done. Whether that’s jumping passing lanes, hounding his man on defense or filling up the stat sheet as he finds teammates with flashy passes all night.

He wasn’t used all too much this past season with Ben Simmons suiting up so his 17-18 stats do NOT tell the story. In the last 10 games where he logged 30+ minutes he shot 54% from the field and scored 10.9 points per game. In 69 career games as a starter he’s averaged 7.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals per match. It would be fun to watch him find the youth on this team..

Dejounte Murray

At 6’5″ he has good size for a point.

Dejounte Murray of the San Antonio Spurs is only 21-years-old and could be great as a defensive guard next to Devin Booker. His shot needs work, but his jumper has shown improvement and he made 4 of 6 treys vs the Warriors in the first round of the playoffs.

In his last 10 games where he played at least 30 minutes, he averaged 13.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 5 assists and 2.7 steals per game. That’s some solid work.

In 56 games as a starter thus far in his very young career he has put up a 46-31-72 shooting line good for 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game. His defense could take pressure off of Booker and Jackson, the rebounding is very good especially at his size and if his offense ever takes off he could be the PG of the future.

The question is will the Spurs part ways? The Suns front office should at least ask.
